Description
Sannio Piedirosso DOP is a sophisticated version of one of southern Italy’s most endearing native grapes, grown on the clay and limestone soils of Campania’s undulating hills. The Piedirosso grapes, which are grown at a height of 250 meters above sea level and harvested in late September, undergo regulated fermentation to preserve their vibrant flavor.
This wine, which is aged in stainless steel to maintain its inherent freshness, pours a vivid purplish-pink and opens with subtle notes of red fruit and flowers. The grape’s distinctive soft tannins, light structure, and mild minerality are all evident on the palate, which is smooth and understated.
It’s the type of wine that pairs well with simple Mediterranean recipes at any time of year or with a little chill in warm weather. A quiet star of Campania’s winemaking heritage, it is dry, well-balanced, and completely unpretentious.
